About This Competition

The JU Competitive Programming Contest (JUCPC) is the University of Jordan's qualifier within the ICPC, the International Competitive Programming Contest. Teams of three share a single machine and race to solve as many algorithmic problems as they can within a five-hour window, with a balloon delivered to the desk for every problem accepted. I competed in the 2018 edition on 6 April 2018 and again in the 2019 edition on 22 June 2019, where the contest was run under the ACPC, the Africa and Arab Collegiate Programming Championship, and I received two Certificates of Achievement.

Highlights

  • Awarded the Extreme Programmers Certificate of Achievement at the 2019 JU Competitive Programming Contest on 22 June 2019.
  • Awarded a First to Solve Problem A Certificate of Achievement at the same contest, for being first in the field to get problem A accepted.
  • Both certificates were signed by William B. Poucher, ICPC Executive Director, and Ossama M. Ismail, ACPC Championship Director.
  • Also competed in JUCPC 2018 on 6 April 2018, receiving a Certificate of Participation signed by the Dean of the King Abdullah II School for Information Technology and the President of the Jordan Programmers Association.
  • Solved algorithmic problems in C++ under ICPC rules: three contestants to a team, one shared computer, five hours, penalty time for wrong submissions.
  • Organised by the University of Jordan with the Jordanian Programmers Association, the Students' Union, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, and the ICPC Foundation.
