About This Competition
A live, in-person Kaggle competition held at the Kaggle Days Meetup in Dubai, sponsored by Asyad Group, a major logistics and maritime services provider in Oman. Teams competed to build a regression model estimating future ship prices from historical maritime and shipping data. Our team placed 2nd overall.
Highlights
- Finished 2nd on the final leaderboard as team "ninja" with a score of 0.06930, between the winning team at 0.06221 and third place at 0.07393.
- Awarded a USD $1,500 gift certificate at the prize ceremony on 3 November 2021.
- Built a regression model estimating future ship prices from historical maritime and shipping data, the challenge set by Asyad Group.
- Competed live and on-site over the two-day event rather than as a remote, long-running Kaggle competition.
- Held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo 2020 Dubai, on 2–3 November 2021.
